The Daily Dairy allows you to record key information such as register times, what a child ate, when they slept, nappy changes and toileting, which can later be shared with the parents.  The names and visibility of the Daily Diary sections can be customised at any time from the Managers Dashboard.

Group Daily Diary allows entries for the above to be conveniently completed for multiple children within a single screen in instances such as group meal times, nap time etc. For more information about entering information to an individual child’s daily diary, see the ‘Completing a Daily Diary’ document.

To open the Group Daily Dairy, without selecting a child, click on ‘Daily Dairy’.

Note: The Daily Diary is not available offline, therefore it is essential that you are connected to the internet for this functionality to work.

This will load the group daily diary sheet for the current day. To change the date, click on the date in the middle at the top and choose the relevant day from the pop up box, then click ‘Set Date’. Alternatively use the arrows to go backwards or forwards a day.

You can also change the group/room by clicking on ‘Key Children’ in the top left corner and choosing from the available options.

The group view has most of the daily dairy sections such as ‘What I Ate today’, ‘Sleep Times’, ‘I had my bottle’, ‘Nappies’ and ‘Toileting’. From this single screen, each section can be updated for all the children in that group. Select the relevant section from the tabs across the top of the screen to fill in information about each child for that day.

Note: Depending on your nursery setting the sections available here may be different.

Additional comments can be added to each of the sections individually by clicking anywhere in the ‘Notes’ area. This could be used to record what the child did/didn’t eat, how well they slept etc.

In the ‘Additional Notes’ section, you will be able to see any daily dairy notes added by parents under ‘Notes from Parents’. You can also write notes back under ‘Notes to Parents’ that will be visible to the parent once the daily diary is published.

Once completed, click on ‘Save as Draft’ to transfer the details into each individual child’s daily diary.

The group daily diary can be repeatedly saved and edited throughout the day. At the end of the day, you will need to click ‘Publish’ from each child’s individual daily diary to share it with parents.

Note: Once a daily dairy has been published for a child on that day it can no longer be edited.
